Whatever your decor or style the flooring is a key element. It has to be right, both in appearance and practicality. It’s all about making the right choices, and our experts are here to guide you.
The process begins with some vital questions. Which room or rooms are you considering? Next comes your budget. And then the choice of colour.
If the bedroom is the project then right now the trend is for plush carpets. They’re practical in terms of sound insulation, and warmth. And when it comes to style we have them in a huge range of colours. That includes grey, so popular at the moment as an integral part of the currently in demand ‘pink and grey look’.
The young ones of course like to have a say in their own bedrooms. The problem is they change their tastes as they grow, and they’re quite demanding of a carpet! It makes sense then to not make too big an investment in the flooring here, and certainly not in the early years. Think about polypropylene carpets, at a lower entry point, meaning you can upgrade more frequently. And you can clean more easily!
For the living areas, and stairs, an 80% wool, 20% nylon, mix is ideal. So too are the Wilton woven backed carpets. Hard wearing, and beautiful to look at, they’re in such a range of colours that there’s something for every interior style.
21st century style has created a huge and growing interest in the ‘natural’ look.

Sometimes the practical aspect is the main consideration. A busy family home, complete with children and pets, calls for some durable flooring. Again, polypropylene carpet is just right. There’s no shortage of choice in colours, but being bleach cleanable makes then a real blessing. And there are several price ranges from relatively low cost, through medium levels, to top of the range.
Kitchen flooring is an area of much debate. Fashions have changed enormously, but requirements - like wear and cleaning - haven’t! The legendary Flotex brand has seen a real revival lately and we now offer it in wood, and tile, effects. Short loop carpets are big news in kitchens too. In man made fibre they’re very easy to clean.
If there’s one thing that we’re seeing as really big news though it has to be Luxury Vinyl Tiles - or LVT. This flooring has effectively replaced the laminate flooring as a design choice. Resilient, wipe clean and needing no expansion they really do combine practicality and style. Check out brands like Amtico. With every imaginable finish from the classic to the contemporary, they’re warm under foot, beautiful on the eye - and they carry a warranty that lasts for years.
Not all floor coverings are wall to wall of course. Our selection of rugs ranges from the decidedly durable to the exquisite Belgian Wiltons to the super sophisticated hand knotted imports from Iran, Pakistan and India. A rug is a great way to complement the flooring and add your signature to a room.
